Tom McDermott the Owner and General Manager of Metro Auto Auction walked into his barn in early 2018 and noticed an issue. He saw his rates going up for his staffing companies but did not see a change in quality. He had a vision of a premium staffing company, a fully uniformed temp, thorough hiring process, and higher quality employees specialized only in the Auto Industry.

      Tom shared his vision with four other people, each allowing them to take his vision and run with it. One of those four people was Veno Kassab, owner of SKS Transport, a long term Vendor of Metro Auto Auction and a good friend of Toms as well.

      After getting out of the meeting with Tom, and hearing his vision, Veno called his cousin Nino Mihilli. He explained the meeting with Tom, and what he wanted, and the need he identified and passed the ball over to Nino.

      Now comes with what you know. Nino Mihilli did not know anything about a Staffing Company, but he knows business and opportunity and immediately went to work on creating Front Line Auto Temps full internal and external process. FLAT was incorporated in April of 2018.

      Reality Struck: Once all the red tape was done, then advertising and setting up interviews were next. FLAT had over 40 people apply and signup for an interview slot for FLATs mass one-day interview session. The day was all planned, with breakfast, 4 HR reps to handle the over 40 interview appointments. The team all showed up bright and early. The first 3 interviews, no call, no show. They thought maybe they should have not booked that early, no reason to worry. Then late morning still a ton of no call, no shows. To make a long story short, FLAT was equipped and prepared to interview the 40 booked appointments they had, sadly only 12 people showed up, and only 11 were hired. FLAT proudly stepped foot on Tom’s lot on May 1, 2018, with 11 team members.

      Till this day Veno and Nino laugh about that experience. Front Line Auto Temps started with the Vision of one man Tom McDermott. Not only was this his vision, but it was he who opened one door for long term friend and vendor Veno Kassab. Veno then went and shared that door opening with his cousin Nino Mihilli. Together Veno Kassab and Nino Mihilli walked through that door that Tom McDermott opened up and now are on a mission to live out Tom’s vision and to open up thousands of doors for others nationwide by creating more jobs in the Auto Industry.
